Dummy Policy

At Footsteps we recognise that babies and children can have dummies for nap times and comfort, we also recognise that it reduces the risk of cot death in young babies. In the belief that proactive steps can be taken to ensure children develop the best speech and language possible, parents and practitioners should work together.

At Footsteps we practise the following:

·         Encourage children to only use a dummy for comfort when upset and as a part of the child’s sleep routine.
